Hello,

I am building a Hellcat block with 392 forged internals. ( stock crank, drop in rods and pistons) It will be getting hellcat heads, supercharger and a custom cam.

I have no idea how I will control this engine yet. The car will be a 68 Charger. Full manual valve body 727. What should I be looking for? What would make the most sense as far as a computer?

Thanks for any advice, and if you need any more specifics from me please just let me know and I will do my best to answer.

Ring gap and pistons would be a concern as a 392 is N/A and the kitty is S/C. Also the location of the top ring maybe higher on the N/A engine causing issues above about 8 psi. I would ditch the powdered rods and go with the best rods and pistons you can get made in USA. Quality goes in before the name goes on. Blown engines require tlc and attention to details from tuning to assembly don’t skimp on hardware and gaskets. You need to connect with guys that run them hard for another perspective repeatedly.

Thanks for the reply. I agree. I am using a Factory 392 forged crank, and the rods are Molnar PWR ADR, with 2618 Bullet pistons that are ready for boost. The rods and pistons were sold as a package and were marketed as " drop in".

Hopefully the top ring is down compared to others. Run good springs and the best keepers toolllll
Don’t skimp! Enough boost and you’ll find the weak point!

Yep, the top ring is moved down. These components were specifically built for boost. I do appreciate all the information. I have also built the bottom end with main studs and billet caps. My big sticking point at the moment is what pcm to go with.

Contact Chris here. He has been doing these swaps since the beginning. He will answer all of your questions about engine management.
I swapped a 6.1 in my 68 Charger back in 2014. It has been flawless since I got all the bugs worked out. Good luck with your build.
