Hey Everybody,

I'm new to this forum and also to any electrical work such as this. My dilemma is - I have a 68 Coronet that has been sitting for awhile and shows some some high heat/damage to a couple of the bulkhead connectors, but mainly to the fusible link wire:

This is labeled as insert "J" in the shop manual. My question is - can I just replace this fusible link wire? If so, how do I dismantle the wire/terminal end from the plastic housing/harness end? Any advice appreciated.

Hey thank you! How about how to get the old wire terminal end out of the harness end?

Disconnect the battery. Real easy to replace, notice the broken looking pin, a tiny screw driver will work. Insert it into the side of the plug while pulling slightly out.

BTW :welcome: aboard! Head on over to the Welcome Wagon thread to tell us about yourself and post pictures of your car.

OK thanks again....and thanks for the welcome! But I'm afraid my car is not quite "photo ready" but hopefully will be pretty soon...

I think some auto part stores carries fusible links too. Don't be worried about posting pictures of your car in progress, all Mopar's are photo ready.
