Bumble bee stripe location

I'd get the vinyl, it'll be the right color, cut correctly, cheaper, plus, if it's put on wrong, you can immediately peel it off. If they screw it up. Paint won't be the right color, you could end up with paint bleed from under the masking tape, plus, once it's on, whether it's right or wrong, that's it.[/QUOTE. The only original colors available were red, black, or white. The car is nowhere near original. So i plan on having my painter paint it in hemi orange. I like the gold metallic in it. Which wouldn't be visible in any vinyl. I also like the thought of having waxable clear coat on it. And if the paint bleeds under the tape, its his problem, not mine. Thanks though.

Somehow i posted my last response incorrectly. But, i plan to have my painter paint the stripe in hemi orange. Mistakes will be his problem.

I'm sure that you can get a custom stripe in orange. Personally, I wouldn't want to take a gamble on the painter making a mistake on my car, but to each his own.

Yes, you can get it in orange. But not hemi orange. I want to see the gold metallic in it. You could not see that in vinyl. And vinyl does not hold up like paint. As i'm sure you know. I also like the thought of being able to wax one clear coated surface. Hes painting the whole car. If the stripe or anything else is wrong, he fixes it before being paid.

What color is the car?

Define wrong? That is a very broad term...So what would you consider wrong that warrants him not getting paid?

In this case sir, i define wrong as any and every thing i am not happy with. The car is being painted gloss black.

What does a paint job in Dayton, Ohio run these days, yours for example...

RC c'mon, those pics I posted are OEM vinyl from the year! I used to spread wax right over them. Ok I probably got lucky.

I would think the rates in Dayton are comparable to other cities. Why ?
Rates vary...so I am curious...reason, your comment means or sounds like your getting a perfect black paint job. Since I have black cars I am curious as to what another shop in another state is charging

I see. I doubt perfection will be obtained. But it must be sought more so with black than any other color it seems. As black shows flaws worse.
As for the cost, its difficult to compare , considering the body work included. I had half a trunk floor, quarter patches, left inner fender, etc. I'm over 10k.

Is that prior to finish bodywork and paint?

Is the stripe across the trunk supposed to be in a straight line or does it follow the angle of the trunk? Seen pics of both ways. Which is correct?

Definitely not straight. Follows the line of the deck lid. Some will install it taking the time to straighten it out...which is incorrect.

Looked at every d—- Bee&Charger today at Nats. Slight dip at middle of trunk on Chargers towards the rear. Bee’s- everyone was straight on trunk, but I’m not commenting on the sides coming down. Snake’s blue pic looks correct.
