am I the only one who thought to take a picture of pain?.........

I have one that still haunt's me but I didn't get a picture .. 3 pound sledge, me holding brake drum out of the way while my dad hammered on a pickle fork to break loose the upper ball joint as hard as he could .. which was with considerable force

He's a graphic depiction of me afterward

I have never busted a knuckle hence there is no picture!

Did if anyone hear thunder??????

OUCH!

I don't think I've ever thought to take a picture right after it happened. Wife took a couple of pictures of one of my fingers after it got intimate with a table saw, but I don't think she kept 'em.

I do have a couple of memories of busted knuckles/fingers/hands tied to cars, farm equipment and even farm animals though...

I'm still a member of the "ten-digit" club, but I'm not quite sure how. The ironic thing is that every time I've nearly lost a finger, I was "doing it right" with the safety gear and such--when I "take my chances" I guess I know I'm taking risks, and act accordingly. That and the fact that God looks after children and fools!

Nope, no thunder here :giggle:

Not a knuckle, but when I was young, dumb and didn't know any better I was using a sledge to reinstall a half shaft in a Ford Escort. The damn thing kept slipping out of alignment so I used my knee to push it inward toward the car while I used the sledge and a piece of wood to "gently" force it back home. After a practice alignment tap, I reared back with the sledge and took a full swing, the handle bounced off the fender and redirected the sledge head to my knee. Somehow the skin on my kneecap pinched and I pierced the end of the axle stud through a pair of coveralls, a pair of jeans and through both layers of skin....a clean hole. It hurt so bad that I didn't even cuss....I was just in shock that it happened. I still have two half inch diameter scars about an inch apart.

Needless to say, I put the sledge down for the night and reassessed my method. Somehow the next night I was able to slip the darn thing in without using any force.

I don't have a pic but about 10 years ago when I was changing a wheel bearing in the rear of my eclipse the ratchet slipped and I punched the inside of the wheel well .....all my knuckles looked like ground meat ....one was down to the bone

I love taking pictures of good and bad but never took a knuckle buster shot. Cool! It's for the good of the hobby. I once hammerered away at u joint on a friends car. I felt a burning sensation on my hand below my thumb. It was a hot razor sharp chip of metal. It Pierced my hand like hot metal on a stick of warm butter. Luckily did not go deep into the skin, it just glided along the surface. I kept thinking............EYEBALL. Ouch!

for bonus points...... identify the part/repair

Thought this was about a busted steering knuckle....:-

Pffft, a busted knuckle is nothing. Unfortunately, I can beat that hands down from what happened to me 2 1/2 years ago:

2nd degree burn on my arm.
3rd degree burn on my chest complete with skin graft.
My leg where they took the donor skin from.

RC, didn't you post something about what happened? So far, no broken bones or burned skin but there's been plenty of fires started and bones that should have been broken.....guess either it's dumb luck or someone is watching over me...

If I recollect, Cranium's car would not start and his first thought was probably out of gas. Checked it out by looking down the gas filler using a Bic lighter as a light source. Instantly confirmed the car had gas, so he moved on to some other possible cause. LOL

those burns are friggin serious.......... my busted knuckle wasn't actually busted............. that is a groove cut in it from an electric grinder and a cutoff wheel........ it hurt like 10 mo fos, but I didn't even break stride :toothy9:

I have quite a few battle scars from construction work and automotive but I try not to tell people about them, especially the wife. Never thought about documenting them with pics, maybe next time, and there will be a next time for sure.
A buddy of mine from high school days hurt himself so often that we still call him "boo boo" to this day.

R.C....
You "WIN"....!

I was going to post how many times I have been injured etc.
But, nope, R.C. you beat them all !

I don't know, I might have you all beat. When I was circumcised as an infant, it hurt so much, I COULDN'T WALK FOR A YEAR :tantrum:

As my old man used to say, "You must not have been 'holding your mouth right' the 1st time..."

I don't usually take any photos of any of my many injuries, over the many years, I've sure had a few, cuts, scraps, burns & bruises... my 1st bad one, was when I bought my 1st Charger, I was driving it really hard & it had a slight little slipping trans & was getting hot, I removed the radiator cap {not the smartest move, but I was only 15} it was cold outside {for Calif. anyway} so I had a thick jacket on, dumb a$$ me, it blew scalding hot rusty dirty water & antifreeze up my jacket sleeve, I got 2nd degree burns up my whole right arm, took a while to get the damn jacket off too, jumping around like a scalded ape... I had to soak my arm in tea solution for a couple days to draw out the antifreeze & nasty stuff & deal with the scabbing & gross stuff for a month or so afterwards, at-least I didn't need skin graphs thank goodness, Dr. said "I was extremely lucky", but it was bad enough I learned a good lesson about hot/overheating cars & radiators thou... DOOOOH, the worst was the same car falling on me, because of a broken jack stand weld, breaking my sternum & fracturing my arm some 3 years or so latter... nothing so dramatic since then
