Well clifton traded me my 66 chevy for his 1966 ford t bird that supposedly had just had the engine rebuilt. Well I've had the car about 1.5 mounts now and haven't really touched it because it needed a radiatior. I got the new radiator in Saturday and installed it. Started the car let it warm up any soon as the water pump kicked in it blew water and oil everywhere and started knocking terribly. Also he told me that he was going to give me the receipt on the engine rebuild when he sent me the title, I got the title but no receipts. I have called him multiple times with no answer and I have left a voicemail with no response. I pulled the valve covers off and it has a bent rod and a missing rod so just beware that what he says probably isn't true

:laughing4:

I have never seen a lifter blowout like that, and that is badly bent pushrod.

Wow, how on earth does a lifter break like that when it's always under pressure? I wonder how much broke off as metal particles into the engine. It must have been running pretty rough with only six or seven cylinders breathing. Was the bent rod in the same hole as this lifter? And was the head clean like it had been rebuilt, or was that all a story too?

By the way, I like the '66 T-Birds, is it the 428?

Lifter probly jumped out of the hole and got caught in the cam . I bet the cam is F'ed up also !!

It appears as if the engine had been built a few years ago possibly, the pushrod and broke Lister were on the same cylinder but into different holes

I told you everything I knew about the car and you checked it out and started it up and drove it. I bought it, had it painted, fixed the interior and sent the engine to the original owner because it was supposed to be freshly rebuilt when I bought it from him and it was knocking. So when I got it back I installed the engine and test drove it and it ran and sounded fine. Just like it did when you checked it out and drove it. When you asked for receipts when you picked the car up I informed you that I didnt have any because I was not the one who did the work. I am sorry for your misfortune but I didnt lie to you or mislead you. I dont answer your calls because you call all hours of the night and I have a new borne and your calls continue to wake him up so I now silence my phone before bed. I wish you the best of luck and as I told you before I will continue to try and reach the previous owner and find out who he had build the engine.

The furthest I drove it was up on the trailer because it needed tires

No it did not run fine it was extremely loud and sounded like it was missing but you kept telling me it was the exhaust donuts which I have already informed that they were not even tight

When you asked for receipts when you picked the car up I informed you that I didnt have any because I was not the one who did the work.
No

I did not call all hours of the night I've called the day in the afternoon the morning texted and you've always said you'll call me right back and guess what you never have

No need for that now I just took over a $3000 loss thanks a lot
