I am looking for some insider information here or just a guy with some spare parts laying around.

Here is the rub:
I am putting a 2001 Dodge Dakota manual trans (NV3500) behind my 2003 5.7 Hemi. I have a flywheel from a 2003 2500 Ram with the NV4500 5-speed and was planning to use the Ram clutch but a Dakota clutch is a bit cheaper and the input shafts are the same. Does anybody know or have a way to find out if the pressure plate from the Dakota clutch will bolt to my Ram flywheel?

Or I suppose the other option would be a screamin deal on a Ram 2500 clutch if anybody has a vendor connection.

Any and all help is appreciated and yes I am doing it this way because I'm broke.

Maybe, If it's on a Dakota prior to the 2002 {I think} & not the OHC 4.7ltr. versions, but ones with a 5.2ltr/318ci or a 5.9ltr/360ci Truck Magnum Engine, just like the Ram 1500-2500, I would think, it should bolt up, if it's the same diameter even.... Pretty sure anyway, but flywheel on the 5.9ltr/360ci Magnum is external balanced {clutch pressure plate, maybe also, I'm not 100% sure}...

My flywheel is for a 5.7 hemi not the 360 so I don't think the Magnum LA version of the clutch will work but maybe. I don't believe they weight the clutch i think only the flywheel on the 360.

:iamwithstupid: I figured it had a flywheel from the Gen. III, 347.7ci/5.7ltr. Hemi', just figure the V-8 Magnum Truck 1500-2500 Ram 1995-2000 engine or specifically the Dakota 5.2ltr./5.9ltr. Magnum {not LA} V-8 clutches were the best bet, for fit... Good luck your on your own now...

dakota shows a 12 inch clutch and hemi shows 11 1/2 inch.as long as the disc is not too small(inside edge)and the off set of the fly is the same it should work.you would need to put them too each other to compare flywheel step distances.bolt pattern looks really close.cant find exact specs.

I don't have anything to compare is my problem. I might have to take the flywheel to the local parts store and see if they will let me open a couple of boxes and not buy anything....

Thanks, you may be right. I'll definitely look at both and try to compare. I was just hoping somebody might know for sure.
