Good low and mid range torque, good idle, daily usage and off road, towing, performance and fuel efficiency, 2600-3000 cruise RPM, 8.75 to 10.5 compression ratio 1800-5400 rpm
 
Would it be decent for exhaust manifolds in a 440 or is there better choices? Also what should it be installed at
 
Slap that thing in straight up, it's good with iron intake/exhaust manifolds .
It's a pretty tame cam, good for a little bump in HP on a stock engine.

Considering that the term “straight up” has three different meanings depending on who you ask, maybe give a recommended ICL

That's one of what I've heard referred to as a "Crane Magic Grind", they work really well for a "stage 1" performance improvement. Straight up is installed at an ICL of 107, but if it's in a low compression smog big block, I would run a compression test and see if there is a gain with it installed at 103, or 4 degrees adavanced. It calculates to 54 degrees of overlap and 112 LSA using the .004 lift timing events.

If the cam LSA is 112, then being installed 'straight up' is a 112 installed centerline...for a mild street motor I'd go 4 or 5 degrees advanced with that with that cam, so in at 107 or 108. We don't know your build, but since you said 'manifolds' can we assume it's on the milder side? That'll be a nice torquey driver with a little more pop than stock. I doubt you'll have P/V clearance worries advancing it with the shorter duration...but as always, don't take my word for it! Measuring and checking is never a bad idea.
 
Yes mild 440 build stock stroke, was wanting to do some good pistons with stealth head. Just want something that will run decent. Will go in a 69 RR. I am kinda scared of using any new hydraulic or solid FT cam because of all the horror stories I have read about wiping the lifters. Would I be better off going with a roller cam or using this new old cam and lifers I have. What compression ratio should I use for 93 pump gas with the stealth heads.
