Can't get full throttle with my pedal any ideas????

E19.jpgReconfigure the linkage to look like this. Eddy carbs, different intake but you'll get the idea. Much simpler.

throle cable travle

can't get full throttle with my pedal. when I push it to the floor it only gets about 2/3 and the cable is tight. I shimmed the lever to try and extend the range but still can't seem to figure out how to get full range. I am using a Lokar throttle and kick down. Any ideas? here is a pic of my setup on the engine. (the kick down has not been cut to length in the pic so disregard that)

It's all due to the design of the early 60's floor mount cable having a flush mount with a smooth e-clip the lokar type cable like I also fought with on my 65 coronet with 2 750s on a tunnel ram have a threaded tube and jam nut design that takes up an extra inch were it mounts to the floor then the clevis that connects it to the pedal is another half inch thick where the factory cable just clips to the pedal linkage,,, you can grind down all the rod and jam nuts to make more pedal travel it works a lil better but the best answer is a after market gasser type pedal that you can adjust the pedal and cable arm that adjust using the splined machined fittings,,i believe I got a cal custom or lokar that matched my cables ,, just bolts to the floor wide open carbs,,
