Well.. I ponied up some cash and bought a QuickFuel SS 680VS upon the recommendation from FBO and my Ford buddies. Bolted it up this weekend, it ran pretty well out of the box and the floats did not need any adjustment which was a bonus. AFR was in the 12.9-13.2 range at idle.
It will need a bit finer tuning to test all the circuits, but overall I'm pleased. The Edelbrock I had on there was a decent carb, it's pulled pretty hard to 3500-4000 it just never felt "right", and unpredictable. I think the idle circuity on the Edelbrock are just not made to handle any more than 220 duration cam.
