Can you send a picture of the valve covers?
Car is not being driven, given I am only 14 years oldI hope you're not driving it with the kickdown rod disconnected. If so, you can expect a premature trans rebuild.
Yet your profile shows 27, so the question was perfectly reasonableCar is not being driven, given I am only 14 years old
I put is as 27 in case there is an age limitYet your profile shows 27, so the question was perfectly reasonable
Smart, keep them guessing. That's a LA 318, has nothing to do with being built at Los Angeles assembly plant. Stands for light "A" engine, compared to the original "A" engine from the 1950s, or poly engine, phased out in 1966, or 1967 if in Canada. 1967 starts the LA 318 in U.S.I put is as 27 in case there is an age limit
I bought this car when I was 12, and I knew it wasn't a poly, but the year stuff had me messed up and I was sure it wasn't a 273Smart, keep them guessing. Thank you for being interested in old cars at 14. Great learning tool even if you don't stay with them forever.
Seems to be a later intake, but I'm not to good with small blocks, so I'll leave that to the people who know more. I believe the early intakes are all the x looking ones, like a 2 bbl single plane.I bought this car when I was 12, and I knew it wasn't a poly, but the year stuff had me messed up and I was sure it wasn't a 273
Not in 100% of the cars sold new in the US. See post 17.Stands for light "A" engine, compared to the original "A" engine from the 1950s, or poly engine, phased out in 1966, or 1967 if in Canada. 1967 starts the LA 318 in U.S.
