Because, as Aristotle rightly noted, man is a political animal. Everything IS, or can easily be made to be, political...
I should add that I 'get' what youre saying; one of the reasons I look at non technical/car specific threads is to relax and enjoy a bit, away from politics. Theres PLENTY of forums - both capital F and lower case - for that stuff, and I frequent several. But ya gotta admit, this one was ripe for the pickin...
