So this morning I drive my '74 to work... it's cloudy outside, but I'm hoping my new wheels come in today so I can go straight to the shop and get 'em put on. My father calls me, freaking out- something about needing to transport his cat to a friends house before he goes on a trip. He'd do it, but his Prius is having issues. :laughing4: So I jump in the Charger and roar over to his house.

Now my father lives on a hill. And his driveway is steep. I'm guessing a 40 degree angle for about 50 yards. We had a big storm a few days ago, and his driveway is littered with branches, chunks of eucalyptus bark, mud, you name it. I pop the Charger into 1st gear (sadly, it's an auto) and hit the gas. RWD kicks in and the Mopar chugs up that hill, spinning debris off into the woods as it goes. I hate to say it, but I had my doubts that it would make it with that much ease. Never again will I question the awesome power of my badass machine.

I get the cat inside the box, the box into the Charger, the litter box seatbelted in the rear seat next to it. There's a blanket underneath both in case the worst happens, but once again no worries to be had. Grateful Dead on the stereo (yup, got a soft spot for 'em) quiets the cat, my father's elderly panic level eases, and I get both to their destination in style. No leaks from the litter box, the cat, or my father.

We pull up to his friend's house to drop off the cat. He's never seen my car. He comes out of his house, takes one look at the Charger and yells "Mopar muscle, baby! Oh my god, that thing is awesome!" My father is trying to hand the cat off to him, but all the guy wants to do is stare at the car and chat about it. Everyone is smiling, except the cat in the box. We finally get his pet squared away and head home.

Charger wins. Prius loses. Yet another reason the Charger is becoming my daily driver over newer vehicles in my stable. :headbang:

40 Degree pitch! Holy smokes...Your old man live on top the Grand Tetons? WOW that's steep. Hope your pops isn't in a wheel chair. He'd be cracking the sound barrier by the bottom of the hill.

Good to hear your trusty Charger triumphed with ease......silly Prius
