It’s all good just an adjustment. Stole few minutes for the install and woot! She’s charging at idle at 14.52 volts. Victory!

Once batt is fully charged the amm reading should return to zero and keep on the middle as much as posible. That will mean the alt is feeding the car demand without suck out from the batt ( discharging ). Zero reading It won’t mean the alt is not working.

thanks and that’s basically what I’m seeing. It’s only at startup that isn’t off center really. Within a minute or two it’s just off center

That’s the way it must be! The ammount of discharge and respective reading you get, later should get the charge reading to compensate that. Somehow proportional.

The exception is the starter motor since is out of the ammeter reading. So everytime you crank the engine which won’t register discharge, you’ll get the charge reading to get back the battery to the full charge status.
