choke or no choke?

My first car to run without a choke was a 66 Mustang Fastback 289 and used the stock factory point setup with a 600 Holley DP, headers and Torker intake. Other than that, it was stock. Just about all of the rest were Mopars using the factory stock ignition, points and electronic. Granted, most of my cars that had a choke were a bit easier to start when cold out but not having one wasn't a big deal either. Even my drag car which ran two Holley 750 Holley DP TR carbs started up easily with the MP electronic setup.

On a side note, the regulator on my 95 Dakota is shot and it lets the fuel drain back to the tank and it's a pita to start up cold or hot until I get fuel back up to the fuel rail. Either I drop the tank or pull the bed for access to the tank to replace it (the reg is part of the pump) or keep on priming it by manually closing the under hood relay or....cycle the key. Two turns will run the pump twice then I have to wait a bit for that to work another two times and it usually starts up. If I'm in a quiet area, I can hear when the pump loads up if I do the relay trick under the hood. I figure one of these days the original pump will crap out and I'll have to do something then lol

Definitely a big part; anyone who runs an oem ignition is nuttier than a squierrel turd.
Oh come on...really!? lol. You just don't know how to tune a point system or are using junk Shineese parts

Ah, i's just kiddin, cranky. Besides, my wife says we're all crazier than a pack of road lizards, electronic multi-spark discharge ignition or no.

I've been talking to FBO about having them tune and ship me a new Quick Fuel but his recommendation comes without a choke horn? I'm obviously worried about not having a choke in Ohio and think I might be better off with it and wanted to hear from those who get away with it or condemn the idea. I'll have to go home and crank the choke wide open and see how it starts but wanted to see what you guys thought.

No choke for me...
Only drive my car during summer and to the track.
No problems start
I removed the choke horn on my 750 Edelbrock for more flow

Finally sold the Demon and pulled the trigger on my new carb. All I can say is thanks for hooking me up with Don at Four Seconds Flat (FBO), that man knows his stuff and is a real pleasure to deal with...... very helpful. So the new carb is a Q Series Quick Fuel (no choke) with the Black Diamond treatment which was only an additional $25.00 and supposedly prevents staining making it easier to keep looking new plus it's sexy! Custom spec'd, Black Diamond finish, AN fittings installed and delivered to my door for $57.00 less than it would cost for me to pick up a stock QF at Summit!!!!!! Can't beat that.
