Christmas: What decade was better?

My Dad's mother had a fancy aluminum tree with the color wheel; It was mezmorizing.
Had one of those too. 60’s the best era. Take me back just for an hour. My Grandparents, the aroma from the kitchen. Never duplicated.

There used to be a lot of toys for small children that made loud noises. We woke our parents up early, unintentionally, by playing with the See-n-Say toys from Santa. You'd set the dial on the animal you wanted to hear and pull the string. "The cow goes, Mooo."

It had to be super annoying for Mom and Dad.

I got my daughter a Cricket talking doll in the 80s. That was a big mistake. I was glad when the batteries died. Uncle Bill said it was demon possessed. She would say something when someone got close to her.

Homemade fudge and peanut brittle. Mom could have been rich if she'd have started a candy business or a bakery. That woman could cook!

For me, 50's and 60's . Funny. I grew up barely above poverty level in Brooklyn. I got ONE gift for Christmas, maybe a couple other small gifts. And it made me the happiest kid on earth.
