Just adding to the list of thank you's...I'll be using this guide this week and weekend as I start tearing my rear end apart.
Thanks.
Thanks.
make sure seals are turned the right way . cup goes twords the oilI have the same problem, I replaced the seals twice on my 66 Belv 8.75 axel and it still leaks, but there are things I learned from this and other threads that might help in my 3rd seal replace.
Waiting for the seals to come, then I will post an update.
Dr. Diff has a kit with Timken bearings. Thanks for this tutorial! Excellent...
Where do you suggest we source the bearings/races etc? Who's the best place?
Just wanted to say thanks for the post, it was concise and well written. It was a success and my rear turned out spot on. Never saw one with welded studs from the factory.Did you remove and replace the ten studs in the housing? Were they welded in?
Never saw one with welded studs from the factory.
I don't remember if they are knurled or not, but as I recall they are pressed in.
