I had fastbackjon at the charger registry have a go at the punchcard for my 67 belvedere.
He is thorough and has his **** together regarding blurred punchcards.
When he had it done he mailed me 2 paper copies of the punchcard, and a nice write up on my car.
Also he included a paper explaining how to decode a punchcard.
I'm presently waiting on Chrysler historical for a punchcard for my 67 coronet.
I could probably figure it out myself but **** it, I'll send it to fastbackjon. That way I have a independent 3rd party view that I know will be exact.

Obviously he dont do it for free.
I paid him via PayPal and dont have a invoice handy.
Something tells me it was like $110 ,or $120
Money well spent.
My car was missing the fender tag.
Jon gave me a contact info for a couple of places that make tags.
After some frustration with these tag makers I contacted Dave Wise.
Dave was confident that my car was legit and supplied me with a exact fender tag.
I need to add that Dave's interpretation of my punchcard differed slightly from fastbackjon's. I politely asked Dave's office to double check a couple of things.
Upon rechecking they agreed with Jon's decoding.
So I highly recommend fastbackjon. And also recommend Dave Wise for fender tags. Cost a little more but quality is worth extra

John makes awesome build cards, I actually had the opportunity to provide some additional details to improve them and he sent me 2 updated cards for free.

Pic of how the IBM punch card 'punches' the various characters. Keep in mind, these cards were used by many different companies.

On the Chrysler IBM card, the first 2 rows above 0 are R and X.
These are used for letters.

The 3 divisions of letters are 1-9, but there are only 26 letters, therefore the 3rd division begins at 2 so they all end at 9.
I imagine the thought process was probably to start each section with 9 and count backwards, so you always 'end' with 9 and never get to zero.

To see where all the punches fall, it's best to make a copy and draw vertical lines for R, X, and 0-9.

For example, my paint code is GG1, so for each G there is a punch in 'row' 7 and another in 'row' R.
The punches in row R are actually right at the top where the text DEALER CODE is listed.
GG1 corresponds to the numbers 29/30/31 on the bottom edge.

I've spent a lot of time on buildcards.

And you have to remember that each Plant had some differences in their codes. Did the cards differ between Plants?

I think the holes are very obious, and if we can get a very clear pic of the card or of any card, that has the same general appearance one can put the dots together.

Jon’s work is EXCELLENT!!
Unfortunately Chrysler Historical cannot help with Canadian ordered cars. They are ones with 6 under the top row W.

I’ve reached out to Jon a few times without any response. There’s great info in this thread. There’s a 64 Fury that I have known about for over 20 years. The body is as solid as my Belvedere (California car) is. The only thing that was holding me back was the missing fender tag.

Differences in cards between plants, I'd have to look into that.
I've seen slight differences between years, obviously.

I have viewed a number of them, but by no means do I believe there were no differences. I started a thread on fabo for the 67-69 Barracuda, kind of a registry stepping off point, really dug into it, got a lot of emails and pics of buildcards, buildsheets, etc.
Then I suddenly became the primary care giver to a family member and I fell off the face of the internet for an extended period of time.
Recently got a few pms though and helped out, I'm no expert but I know a few things.

I've heard a few stories of a buildcard found in a car, but only saw one example online that looked legit, and iirc it was an early car.

Imagine my surprise, then disappointment, when I pulled the rear seat of my Fury wagon to find this:

Jon does great work and was great to work with. We exchanged several emails and speculated back and forth on the fact that my dealer code doesn't correspond to any known dealership and how that may fit into no dealership being listed on my window sticker. His fee was very reasonable for what I received.

I sent Jon an email checking on his status. I'll update if I hear anything back.
