When and where?Correct. The later year records were lost in a fire.
Good question. It got me thinking about where I heard that. So I did some looking and I think that's been a popular response that I've read enough to make it factual in my mind, but not necessarily true. After doing some reading I find that there's a lot of debate on what the real story is. Everything from a fire, to water damage, to the later records being destroyed by Chrysler to the '68 and newer records are in a different format that would be expensive to retrieve/disseminate. So I really don't know. All I know for sure is FCA Historical doesn't provide anything for the cars after '67.When and where?
I just sent a copy of my registration, has all info needed.
I just received mine in the mail today.Email works. I sent in a request about a week ago and just got this reply.
Thank you for sending your documentation and address. It may take up to 3-4 weeks to process and mail the build record. If you have any questions, please let me know.

Must have been in the same building where they lost the Max Wedge head coresCorrect. The later year records were lost in a fire.
Did you get just the IBM card? If so was it decoded for you?I just received mine in the mail today.
Got it yesterday, I have an old (1996) mopar magazine that has all the codes listed 62-83, used it like a bible for years. Chrysler Car Enthusiast engine etc. The whole issue is about decoding data plates, engines etc. Everything came up correct except the engine code, punch card holes read 37-7 & 38-3, doesn’t show those numbers. Went on line and two places showed same thing.? Card is nowhere close to a build sheet for info but gave me enough for now. I’ll try to find the dealer who sold the car, I have the code for that, region 35, 61910 dealer.Did you get just the IBM card? If so was it decoded for you?

Thanks, I found that out last after going back to the website that said blank or zero then saw 73. Looked in the mag, 073 = Hemi spot on! Do the rest of the columns say #42 then the punch out 8 would that be 428? What does expedite mean?Engine code is only 2 numbers, the first two characters are not used.
81 is J in the VIN.
83 is 440, or L.
73 is H in the VIN.
I just got the IBM card and it was not decoded except for the original selling dealer.Did you get just the IBM card? If so was it decoded for you?
Does anyone have a listing of the dealer codes? Mine is 61910 in region 35. Only thing left to decipher

ThanksYes, except for #s like the vin, shipped date, etc. Columns with more than 1 punch are either multiple options, or if one of them is above the # rows it would be a letter, as in the paint code.
Expedite = sold car, aka someone ordered it.
