Hard to believe that Carlisle 2022 is now just a memory. I am just getting finished up with putting away and inventorying product as we are basically less than three weeks away from the Mopar Nationals in Columbus, OH.
For those that were able to attend, I believe that everyone felt that the show lived up to the hype and are already planning on 2023. I have spoke to the Carlisle staff and they were very pleased with the outcome and only see better things for the event.
I feel that the tent activities have really came a long ways since I first suggested an impromptu meet up. In previous years, various groups have used our swap meet location to use as a common point to meet at a designated time.
Since Hawk, Steve and a couple of others has helped in getting this off of the ground in 2019, we have seen growth and more involvement. I believe that we are really able to now see the significance of being able to come together as a FxBO group at Carlisle and all of the positives that it offers.
Not only does it help with the Carlisle experience, it also helps with the focus and direction of the FxBO sites. Positive growth will only make the forums stronger which will in the end help to make the tent activities stronger as well.
Unfortunately, I am not able to break away from my responsibilities at our business in the swap meet. I did have several guys come by and say hello and I appreciate that.
So with all of that said, I know that we are already thinking about our direction for our swap meet needs and efforts for 2023. It is no different that I will start to put my thoughts in place as to what will make the 2023 tent activities an even more memorable experience.
All of you who were able to attend and support the activities, I would like to say Thanks as the hobby is only as strong as the support that we put behind it. Carlisle Events has over 40 full time employees plus hundreds of part time employees who work the weekend to make the event what it is. Then there is all of the tent vendors who installs what must be 200 plus tents to take care of the different needs for the weekend. Then you have all of the people who come in as spectators, those bringing in their cars and those who are selling parts. It really is a massive event which is like no other Mopar show in the world.
For 2023, I will work on pulling in more handouts and such. Many companies have cut back on promotions, but there is still more that are untouched. Also, if you should work for a business or have connections with those who are willing to donate to the cause, then all the more that we can offer, the more involvement that we will see and prosper from.
As I have done in previous years, I will attempt to create a listing for the other FxBo sites for those who are planning on attending. I know that we are starting to see more positive feedback from the other groups since Hawk has posted over on FABO and FCBO in regards to the Carlisle registration process in securing a tent. I have no doubt that we could easily be knocking on the door of the largest group if the various FxBO members chooses the FBBO site when it comes time to register for 2023.
So with that information, please let us know what we can do to make 2023 an even larger and more memorable experience. This is what we make it to be. We have no reason to exclude anyone or anyone site. I know that the weekend is very hectic and everyone has different agendas. But I really feel that the tent offers much more positives than negatives. Also, I saw a number of people who were attending for the first time. Having some ideal on what to expect is really a good thing in my view.
I have got to get back to getting things ready for our next show in a couple of weeks, so THANKS again for everyone who came out and supported the show and all that it offered. I know that we had our best show ever, this was the largest Chrysler event ever and the future still looks very bright for the Mopar hobby and the site.
Take care,
Richard
