Just recieved my renewal from Grundy, think its high what do you guys think,68 GTX with 50k agreed value and 100/300 coverage quote is $422 for the year.Hardly drive this car, last summer did less than 100 miles.

I think that's steep. Charles has a 70 Coronet Super Bee. Numbers matchin 4 speed car. I don't know what he has it insured for, but it's enough to replace it. He's with Haggerty and all his cars are a little over 100 a year each.

Yea, ever since they sold out to Philadelphia Insurance a couple of years ago the price keeps going up. For me, I think its time to explore other companies! Anybody have any suggestions?

Check with JC Taylor out of Pa. I just added a 68 RR at 50k and already had a 60 Vette at 75k for $700 per year, both cars.

And;
It depends on how "HONEST" you are with your disclosure statement.
If you tell them you drive under 500 miles per year (or something like that) Insurance is cheaper.
But, I called Grundy and Haggerty, one was pricey, but I can not remember.
Keep us posted...

It also makes a difference if you are a hagerty plus member. Im not sure how grundy works .

JC Taylor. 25k agreed. Under 200 a year.

Premium price might depend on your age and driving record, also number of other drivers in your household and their ages etc. Definitely call around or check online for quotes from the other providers, Hagerty, Taylor, etc. Grundy does seem a little high.

i have Haggerty and am insuring 70 road Runner, a 66 Belvy II, and a 72 AMC Javelin for around 500.00 a year for all 3. id be dumping Grundy fast!

I just insured my 69 charger rt for $62,000.00 with 3000 miles a year for $220.00 a year. American modern. Only car on this policy. I have 2 other policy's with other vehicles and motorcycles. Hagerty quoted me $880.00 a yr for the charger

Did some checking online American Classic $286,Hagerty 436,JC Taylor 334,Leland West 317. All are agreed value, but American is the only one with a deductible, which at this quote was 5% of declared value, seems like Leland West is best value with no deductible.

Funny, I just got a quote from Leland West for 3 of my cars and it was $150 more than I'm paying Hagerty. Go figure? These insurance companies seem to be all over the map with their rates.

For what it is worth Hagerty ins here in Ontario Canada puts your car at $490 a year.
AL

I'm pretty sure here in North East rates are higher than most.

might depend on what state you're in too. my 70 RR, 30k agreed, 250k/500k under $300 a year with Hagerty and jersey has some of the highest rates .

What state you live in must have a difference. I just got quotes from Hagerty, American Collectors, and Heacock. None of them come close to the policy I already have with Grundy.

I just started using American Collectors, cost me 387. per year on 27k value. not sure if it was a good deal.

I'll be getting Haggerty for my rat truck. What I like about them is, they will insure ANYTHING in ANY stage. They don't care what it is. I was impressed when Charles recently added his 71 Super Bee to his policy. He has several insured with them already, and to add his Super Bee he got so much of a discount, that they added it for one dallar additional a year. PLUS like two days after he added it, they called him back, concerned that he hadn't gotten enough coverage. His agent went to the trouble to look up the value of the car. They insured it for a higher amount without an extra charge.

If you have multiple cars its even a greater savings .

I was paying 350.00 a year for just the Superbird valued at 55 k
now my premium is 333.00 a year for both cars , the superbird at 55k and 15k on the nash rat rod ,

I will be checking them as soon as I can get down to one car (66 Charger) and a motorcycle. The problem is I no longer have a garage and I know Haggerty used to require it. Does anyone know of other companies that don't require a garage to be insured? I will be driving it about 12,000 miles per year.
