I'm using a Lakewood LK7000 bellhousing for the 4 speed swap in my 1971 Plymouth Satellite Sebring. I'm having problems getting my clutch fork to align properly.

Does anyone on here have any suggestions from experience? I'm using a clutch fork from Brewer's Performance with the clutch pivot from the Lakewood kit. The throwout bearing won't stay on the fork because the fork isn't close enough to the centerline of the transmission.

There are a lot of variables with a Lakewood bellhousing. I’m not familiar with that part number.
I had to make a special pivot to get mine to work in an older Lakewood.
There is a thread about this from a couple of months ago with other solutions so I would do a site search for that.

Agree with dadsbee. I had a similar problem with my Challenger. I sent pictures to Brewer's and they were able to quickly identify what I had, and what I really needed.

Is the pivot for the z-bar mounted correctly on the sidemember ?

Give Brewers a call, I bet they will know exactly what you need to do.

I was able to find that old thread. I had a good look and it gave me a few ideas of where to look. I have tomorrow off, so I'll check it out and see what's going on.

I too have a problem with the old Lakewood on my SB stroker Dart. Centerforce flywheel, pressure plate. It works, but pushes in as hard a a Borg &Beck 3 finger. Correct fork, I need to take a closer look at the pivot.
How did you find the old thread? Every time I try that, I get no where.

Thank you for the info. My z-bar is fine, and have a new Brewers fork. Something is up with the pivot. Working on another project. I can drive it, just have to take time to go back in and start looking.
Thanks again!

Here are my notes on the LK700 bellhousing when they first came out...not sure if ANY of the issues have been fixed or not. The problem with the pivot is that the holes are not drilled/tapped in the correct location.

Thanks a lot. I managed to fix the thread size for the z-bar pivot with the bellhousing in the car. I'm lucky to have been a machinist at one point so I had everything I need. I got the clutch fork pivot to work correctly with a bit of modification. In all, the car is back on the road.
