Question...what happens if you connect the pos side wires to the neg side of the coil? The reason I'm asking is I read a thread saying the blue wire goes on the pos side of the coil, I hooked mine up that way but the car wouldnt start, I switched the wires around, light grey, blk wire with yellow tracer to pos, blue to neg, and the car started right up, am I good to go?
Thanks

It should run either way. IF you reverse the coil polarity, the spark will be the wrong polarity,, it will be harder on spark plugs, and probably won't generate as much spark energy. But it SHOULD run

Why did you think you needed to do this?

well, It wasnt starting so I checked the power with my test light and the blue to pos method barely lit the bulb a dull yellow glow, and it wouldnt start, I switched the wires around and I got a bright bulb and it started

Makes................no...............sense.

Unhook all wires from the coil. Check continuity from each primary terminal to the coil case (ground) You should have an open, IE no connection.

IS IT possible that you got the terminals "cranked over" against the metal rim of the coil case and shorted one?

hell I dont know lol, the coil is a accel super coil, maybe one of the posts or nuts has crud on it.

The only other thing that comes to mind is that a wire connection, or at one of the resistors, or the bulkhead is loose, and when you wiggled stuff around you changed things.

I rechecked everythng switched the blue back to he pos coil post, had the Gf turn the key and it cranked, farted then after messing with the timing it startd right up! I found the plastic retainer clip on one side of the engine harness plug doesnt snap on lke it should, so it was the loose bulkhead
