Comp cam stories!

Comp Cams customer service story. I ordered a complete cam kit. Cam, lifters, springs, chain, about $1600 worth of stuff. I was told it would ship in three weeks. Four weeks later I got an e-mail saying it had been delayed and would ship in three weeks. Four weeks later got an e-mail saying my order would ship in three weeks. Tried to call customer service and was told I was 12th in the line to speak to a customer service agent. One hour later I was still 12th in line. Nobody was even answering any calls. Tried again a different day, same result. I sent them a polite e-mail asking if they had a real date when my parts might ship, never got an answer. Canceled my order and called Bullett Racing Cams. They told me three weeks, had it in two and a half weeks. I will stop building cars before I deal with Comp Cams again.

You're lucky they treated you like that IMO. It was a long trip but a better destination. I've used Comp a few times and never really was impressed.

In the early '90s I built a mild 225 for my Duster. Used Comp 252M cam, lifters, and springs. Loved it. In 2000 I built a 440 for my '73 Road Runner, used Comp again and loved it. My daily is a '95 Jeep ZJ with a 4.6 stroker. I used Comp's Rock Crawler cam/lifters and absolutely love it. I've not had any issues with Comp. In addition, I built a couple engines for buddies using Comp Cams. The only cam I really didn't like was a Crane I tried once.

We've been a master WD dealer for over 30 years with Comp Cams, ever since they sold to Edelbrock group it has been nothing but pure ****, from service to quality. We received a BBC belt drive last week that was ordered in August of 2023, so they're saying as we couldn't find a P.O. ever issued for it, called to return. Nope the B.O. was filled and on you for not canceling it. bad part of the deal is we have never stocked or sold BBC belt drives other than Jesel. All of the good guy's that worked there are either working for other good companies like Bullet or have retired. They seldom have cores and god forbid if you need any help or expect a call to be returned. All these private equity groups have killed the performance industry and they don't care about you other than taking your money. Everyone do yourself a favor and buy local and from privately owned businesses.
