compression test a little help please

So if I have a bad battery meaning it dies after the third cylinder test will that not give me an accurate reading? Does the test require a strong battery? I turn it over around 3 to 4 revolutions. No plugs in the engine. Was thinking of putting jumper cables on the car. Thanks Dave

Yeh Dave you need a decent battery and a charger hooked to it.
For a accurate test, engine warm, plugs out , air cleaner off,, carb wired wide open with fuel supply blocked off.
spin to your high reading then record and onto the next cyl.
