Good for a cabinet and you could do a hood but will take 30% longer than mine (and I'm talking days unless you go non-stop for 12+ hours which is tough to do).

That's where we got ours from, Christmas they drop the price to $1400 iirc

Don't be afraid of two compressors piped together. You can have one about 5-7 HP and one 3. That way you only run what you need.

Like I said in my earlier Post. I have (2) additional 60 gal tanks in line with my IR. Over the years the pumps went bad on the cheap 60 gal 5hp units..So I kept the tanks where they were, inside the building. When I got the Big IR, I built a compressor shed outside the back wall of the shop, insulated it, and piped it into the shop and connected it to the two other tanks.. RC ... You should consider putting it outside in a compressor shed.. You will be glad you did... can barely hear it out there..

Looks like a well built unit, doesn't mention the brand of motor used. Could be different on different models. My IR has a Baldor but it's over 20 years old, they could be using a different brand now. I like that it's American made.

Looks like a 5HP with the "707" pump the CFM rating at 100 psi is 22.2 (versus the "705" pump at 18.3).

That's a good, hard core brand.

I wonder what the price/quality difference versus the IR is.

Interesting their CFM rating is at 100 versus what I normally see at 90.

oops, didn't see the separate section for the vertical units.

You only get the 707 pump on VT-737.

Not sure what the equivalent CFM at 90 would be to do a direct comparison.

That two stage pump with the heavy integrated line housing fins looks very similar to my Bel-Air.

The 5HP motor on mine is almost as big as a 4 cyl gas engine!

My friend at the bodyshop has had a Saylor for 20 years+ with no problems. it's a 10HP four cylinder two-stage. I think they're from Michigan. Quality machine.
If you buy a quality piece, like Quincy, Saylor, I.R., Curtis, you won't have to do anything but enjoy it! Change the oil and clean the filter.
A vertical costs more, but it saves precious space!
If you can, get the bigger tank!

I have a IR 80gal 2 stage. Never runs out of air.

What I have, works great with a larger blaster even!

Dick head the IR which I have is a 60 gal 2 stage compressor. The compressor block is made in india. If i had a chance to buy again I would have bought the 80 gal version. All in all its an excellent unit. But the saylor unit has pressure fed bearings and is made in The USA. I would buy the saylor hands down since in 30 years it will still be running and the Ingersol will never last like the IR of 25 years ago. The american piece is superior in every way.

Quincy are top notch!

RC I have a Quincy as well...it is for sale and has very limited use. The only thing is you have to travel to get it. If interested I can get the info, pics etc to you...and make you a heck of a deal on it.
