Does anyone know the correct carb for a 1970 roadrunner with California emmisions. March build date. Automatic, Air grabber. Does anyone want to part with one?

That carb guide doesn't mention much about Holley carbs (aside from 2bbls for the six pack and 1 bbl for /6) , yet the 1970 Plymouth shop manual goes into detail about Holley numbers for 383 and 440 Cleaner Air System applications. These are 4160 carbs.

Note that the manual also mentions the Carter AVS, however it doesn't seem to be used with the C.A.S engines.

WOW! great stuff. I have been doing alot of research in the past week, and Photon, that is truly the the best answer on the web.
Thanks.

The carb should look something like this (this is from a 383 4 speed car):

Note hose connector just above where the coil is sitting. This goes to the breather - see third picture. Note also the choke. A real PITA to find...

A picture after I had done some cleanup to replace a rusted valley pan (note the throttle return spring configuration is not correct).

That is not the correct carb for your application. Per the FSM Section 9A, page 5: "Chrysler Corporation cars sold in California have an Evaporation Control System (ECS) to reduce the loss of fuel from the fuel system to the atmosphere from evaporation."

In short, you need an ECS carb, not a CAS carb. So you need a R-4217A for a manual and a R-4218A for an automatic. These will have the return nipple.
