Correct paint for power steering box?

Installing a rebuilt steering box on my 1969 dodge. Last on I did I painted it cast iron gray. To me it looks to dark
Painted the new with a gray I found that matched the bare one better. Is it too light? Thoughts?

Way too light, get it off there before it sets up any further.
 
If you must... Cast Iron paint is available. I think VHT has it. SP997

Your top picture doesn't look too dark. The light gray is all wrong

Below is the untouched, original steering box in my '70 Charger; with grime and patina.

That's steering box is not original from a 1970 with the Allen adjuster and the tag under the locknut. Late 70's at least.

Hmmm, ok. I'll look for a casting number and see what I can track down.
