COSTCO!!!!

Man, I wish my gas costs were that cheap!!! How about 4.19 for the 87-octane and that is without the discount points where I fill up. I usually can save an average of 1.00/month when I do fill up and that is split between 2 vehicles. NV gets all our fuel from Commiefornia so that explains it but if I venture east of Reno, the price drops like a rock. Cannot figure that one out unless it is because we tax the SH*T out of fuel just like they do so no savings really other than when I shop for my discount points at the grocery...cr8crshr/Bill:usflag::usflag::usflag:

Ouch.

I also try time my fill-ups to be at the bottom of "the swing", which around here is currently 2.95 to 3.19.

I needed just over half a tank yesterday and one station got it's truck and was 2.95.
Most others are still 3.09.
Most will probably get their trucks today.

In the past three years, I have only had to buy at the top of the swing once.

Like I said, I won't cross the street for 4 cents, but I'll drive another day or three for a quarter.

...and from what I have been told...the lines for the hot cooked chickens and the fresh bread rolls is the longest ever.

I go to another "Membership only" Grocery store - only because I have a photo on my phone of the membership card - my parents sold their business about 5 years ago, and we all still use the Member ID. I buy my coffee beans there regularly and save around 50% per bag of beans compared with all Supermarkets.

Sometimes they have something we like in bulk or running out cheap....but usually I just grab 3-4 items and go. It's on the route home from one of my big customers...so no hardship or long-distance travelling.

When we had a restaurant, my wife and I went to Costco at least one a week, it made a difference. But it's been over thirty years now, haven't been in one since. I haven't felt the need for a drum of pickles or a 40 lb. box of crackers for just the two of us.

I do remember that they had quite a variety; good deals on tires, RayBan sunglasses, music and movies but I have no idea what they stock in those stores any more.

Mostof the stuff I bought from Costco in Ca, was dog treats on sale, dog food, and Kirkland version of Baileys (excellent, at well under half the price of the real Baileys)
Here in AZ where I am, Costco is two hours away, so I joined Sam's. Sam's has diesel, which my Costco didn't have. But Sam's diesel isn't often the best price around, and it is the farthest away.
If I make a special trip for Sam's, I usually by extra of what I want.
The local Sam's doesn't stock the house version of Baileys, so I bought three bottle of Carolans, saving six bucks a bottle verses wm.

We have a big Costco down here now....and some of the prices I have been told are not as good as any other Supermarket - of course there are exceptions.

Buying in bulk might sound good, but the pricing per kilo/pound/ton is normally not that much different.

Even here in States you have to watch what you buy.
In General:
soda isn't cheaper
fresh food is hit or miss on pricing and you better have the mouths to feed or it will spoil
canned goods you gotta watch prices and you have to inventory so many.

Rotisserie chickens are very good and great value. Usually a line up waiting before 11:00AM. Usually sold out by at least 2:00pm.
They are about 2 miles from us. Get our prescription medications there. Plus you get cash back on purchases.

Giant bags of chips, microclothes and toilet paper. All the place is really good for... OH and plank flooring in bulk !

Yep...a friend of mine raves about the rolls and chickens. He goes there on Saturdays when he's not working.....diffrence is that they sell out faster than 2pm here.

He said the number of chickens rotating in the ovens is incredible.....a real 'hot' commodity  ...pun intended.

What do you think they do when you make a purchase using your card? Same thing, it’s all data collection.
I know, just pointing out why they have you scan your card. I heard there is talk they will have you scan your card when you take one of the free samples. So they evaluate the effectiveness of giving the samples.

They still don’t have whole wheat crackers, and often have oysters when other stores don’t.

I bought one last night at 6:30pm. they seem to run out around 30 min +/- before closing here. Shopping there hour before closing is best. Very little lines.
