im in the process of rebuilding the colunm on my 72 satellite and ive got a couple ?s.

how do i remove the lock cylinder?

how do i remove the pin the shoes slide on in the steering coupler?

thanks,jeff

Once you get the steering wheel off, and maybe the park locking plate, you should see a small hole on top of the lock cylinder. The hole will be in the die cast column parts. You will depress a small catch, and the key installed, rotate/pull it out. The manual that Propwash is referring to will explain how better.

As far as the pin for the column shoes, why do you want to remove it? It is not normally removed when you rebuild the coupler if I remember correctly.

69 bee thanks i know the hole you are talking about in the cylinder but i dont have the key. as for the pin i am switching from a column shifted power steering column to a floor shifted manual steering and i have to use parts from both columns so im tearing them apart. thats why i dont have the key for the column.
