Cruise/Shake down +1 day run to Poopy's, IL

Congrats and thanks for the pics. Our Vette club drove down those roads last Fall. Beautiful scenery.

I regonize nearly all the scenery in your pictures. I lived In Savanna, Ill. for 20 years. I went to grade school in Galena, H.S. in Savanna, and also later lived in Mt. Carroll before moving to AZ.

If you did not make it to the Iron Horse Saloon in downtown Savanna you missed the best automotivre feature of the town. It is a 3 story bar/museum/store that features a large collection of old motorcycles dating back into the first decade of the 1900s. It is owned by a good friend of mine from High School. They even have a wedding chapel on the 3rd floor where many bikers have been married. My buddy that owns the saloon was also a BIG gearhead with muscle cars but switched over to Bikes as his main thrust some years back.

Thanks 68chicken...this forum has been a huge help in doing my summer project, one of which was the thread where you posted pics of your heater box for me a couple months back. I've mostly been an E Body guy so still learning the ropes on these B's!

696, if that's the place on the same main drag where the Civil War museum is, we drove past it on the way over the river. We were kind of pressed for time as it's about a 3 hour haul out that way each way so couldn't see it all, BUT that place is on my list. Very pretty country out there, indeed!

Very nice ! glad to hear you trip went as planned .... and poopy's sounds funny as hell !!! sweet menu too ..

Great pics and what an awesome car. You did a great job on that dash and the whole car. I love that old gas station, you're right we dont see that much any more. I have a few left in my area but most are just there not running any more. I love the old gas stations.
