I have a car possible coming in for the same thing. Block and paint. Thecar is all ready jammed. I quoted the guy with no more then $4000

I'm having my 70 Super Bee done on a rotisserie. I have seen his work and it is excellent. He is doing it for 10 cash and I supply the parts such as the cost of the bumpers rechrome and paint and supplies. The only draw back he is so slow. You think that is a fair price?

4k is almost what my block and paint cost with materials included.And Mine was a painters side job so thats a really fair price.

..............What gets me is this,,,,,..........a bodymans time is always worth more than a mechanics time...... It can and has taken me up to 200 hrs to build the perfect motor, even though it took him 3 weeks of 8-5 days I still owe him.........mind u I am not the sharpest tack, but Im a thinking something is amiss..........kim.....

Thanks, I think its because theres a few of us left that do it for the love of the hobby and not for the love of money. Not that I dont love money, LOL

That's because engine building doesn't usually shorten your lifespan.
