Just wondering if anyone has tried installing cutouts on a car with stock exhaust manifolds and stock 2.5 inch H pipes

@Houle #382 I put homemade cutouts on my stock HP exhaust and they leaked, so they were pretty loud. When I uncorked them, it sounded like a race car. I bought manufactured cutouts to replace my homemade ones but I haven’t installed them yet. I recommend them, if they don’t leak when closed.

They will just be loud and probably won't improve performance. THey will make your car sound like an old pick up with a bad muffler.

I just pulled an entire SS exhaust system with short headers with badlandz cutouts. System worked great, but on a stock setup, it just sounds like you're missing the mufflers. Doesn't sound badass at all.

Your car will only end up 'All show and no go"

Why is it that it is always the Mopar weenies that roll into the cruise nights/car shows and open up their exhaust cutouts?

Yepp .... I know of a show winning stock superbee with cutouts .... sounds like crap.... and looks funny being all original.

I’ll admit that I can be a bit harsh from time to time in my postings, but you guys are way out-front on this one. Although I agree.

This Mopar weenie that recently built this motor in his 50 year-owned Dart has cutouts and I can tell you firsthand that they are badass. He loves to open them up when he pulls into my driveway (he knows I like it too).

But it has headers, correct?

That’s the difference. Not really applicable to the specific discussion

I responded to the comment which also did not relate to the OP. Slinglow out!

Bickering aside, definitely agree open exhaust on a decent root’s blower motor is as cool as it gets.
