Damn Dash

Let me first start by thanking Ron 73, Meep Meep and 19Fury63 for all their help on my gauge problems.

I'm puzzled by a cylinder shaped resistor hanging under the dash, next to the flasher switch or resistor. The cylinder shaped resisitor was getting so hot you couldn't touch it. I replaced the resisitor but it still gets hotter than hell. It gets hot without starting the engine and it seem that it might be tied to the little light on the steering column, next to the ignition key switch. I believe this; due to the fact that its the only thing on, not even the dome light is on because it is empty.

i have seen them i think it has something to do with your dome lights or the light by the key switch. pull the fuse for the dome light and see if it is still hot.
