Damn you chip foose

Now Katzkin is putting in seats with a "Cobra" logo in plain view. WTH. Mopar graphics, now Ford branded Cobra seats. WTH. In a Pontiac.

Just watched another episode of Overhaulin'. I take it back. Chip Foose is taking care of our Vets, our guys, our heroes. God Bless Chip. The 14 Impala episode.

I don't agree with everything Foose does to the cars - especially putting those oversized wheels on everything - but for the most part he does good work and comes up with some good looking rides.

As far as the modifications to the 'Cuda goes - it's still a 'Cuda. I have more issues with all of these bogus 'clones' and 'tribute' cars that everyone wants to 'create' - or taking the early year Chargers and making them all into General Lees.... If you have a great Satellite - don't try to turn it into a Road Runner - to me, that makes it a fake, a phoney. There is not a thing wrong with having the most wicked Satellite to grace the pavement - same thing applies to the Coronets - if it's not an R/T, don't hang the badges on it and claim it's a 'clone' - leave it as it is and build it up from there, but don't try to change the identity of it - hell, that's like taking a 'Cuda and putting a 'Maverick' nameplate on it and calling it a Ford 'tribute' - but then that's my opinion - which that and a couple of bucks will get you a cold soda.

At least Foose's show isn't all about the supposed 'drama' like some of the other shows. Graveyard Carz is much better this year so far with less BS and more repair work going on. Fast n Loud is nothing but a joke - Rich Rawlings is nothing more than a car pimp - flashing his roll of cash and trying to look important - you don't see Wayne Carini doing that and he deals in cars that are worth more than Rawlings will ever be able to sit in, let alone buy. I don't how anyone would have stayed working for Coddington - with all of his BS deadlines and working everyone 7 days per week - the vendors given no time to do their work as needed - the shop foreman got everyone lined out on the work and then Boyd comes along and screws that all up - then ******* about how come nothing is getting done. I imagined they all breathed a sigh of relief when he died. There's a guy on Maverick channel - don't know the name of his show - does a lot of metal fabrication and repair work - it's a good show. I agree with some of our other members in that, if you don't like the show - don't watch it....

Maybe Chip Foose would have gained more respect if he had started out with this beauty from another thread we saw yesterday....

But I guess that would have been in the "Too hard basket-case"

LOL....that's what i'm talk'n bout!!! Now I would be on board for Chip to FOOSE it up

Just that the most hateful and racist thing to do on a numbers matching iconic classic car would be to stuff wild west wagon wheels (20 and over) under it and of course anything to do with cutting up the stock chassis up. Either to install massive slicks or to resto-mod it.

Otherwise, anything goes IMO. But yeah..... I would be miffed too.

You know the one thing I always notice about these threads is that the Pro Street, Pro Touring and Hot Rodders always seam to be polite and respectful towards the more correct cars but never receive the same treatment? I've been at shows where guys would bluntly say that I ruined my car with the wheels! I on the other hand would never insult a persons car even if it was hideous so just try to be a little more open minded and remember if you ever come across one of these cars on the road you better hope it's a short, straight stretch of road before you go taunting them haha. Point is..... be nice!
Had a guy laugh at my 66 Belvedere once. 2 weeks later I paired off with him doing eliminations at the track and promptly beat him. Told the track worker that he wanted to run me and since he knew me, I was moved over to the side like I was going to get a bye run until the ahole with his Mustang came up  Cut a much better light and ran the numbers and he didn't even come close. Later on in the pits when he was sticking it on his trailer, I mentioned about people who get the last laugh.....he sure wasn't laughing anymore.

Yep that seems like the norm now...

Well put, some respect for what others like & do, goes a long way...

Hey guys, Chip did a '67 Coronet a few months ago and retained all of the cool features of that body style. Awesome job and very tasteful. Remember, he always asks the "insiders" lots of questions re. what the owner would want done before changing anything.

As an aside, I had the opportunity to meet him at Woodward a few years ago (2008?) - a true gentleman. Wife & I stood in the hot sun for 1 1/2 hours and, when we were just about at the stage, they halted the line to bring a young person up on stage who had the premature aging disease (can't remember the correct name). Anyway, Chip spent 15 min. or so with this child and no one said a word or complained. When I got to meet him, I commented on his thoughtful gesture - that's when he told me that his Sister had died from the same disease, then went on to chat & pose for pictures & autographed my Woodward shirt. A VERY classy guy!
