Hello all. I have a '69 Roadrunner in which the driver's side front bumper as well as the left dash turn signal lights are not operating. When I engage the left turn signal, the only thing that flashes is the driver's rear taillight. I replaced the front bulb but still no change. I also checked the dash panel bulbs and they all seem to not be burned out. I did notice that the left front signal and its corresponding dash light do properly flash when the emergency flashers are activated, and that the respective parking light operates too when the lights are turned on.

Not sure if it has anything to do with it but I recently had a FireCore 6 Ignition Controller installed. It was mounted under the battery on the Driver's side front fender. I also had a transmission conversion take place where a new clutch and brake pedal assembly had to be installed. I'm not real familiar with the car's wiring so I ask the forum if there is anything in either area that could have been accidently disconnected or pulled out???

Any suggestions on where to start troubleshooting would be greatly appreciated.

if all works when 4-ways are on, then you just proved that the bulbs and wiring to all bulbs are good.....I would check the turn signal switch connector where it connects to the dash harness for corroded or burnt pins, if these check OK, then my guess is you need a turn signal switch inside the column to fix this

Most likely, there is a problem in your turn signal switch. sometimes the contacts (which are just rivet heads) will melt into the plastic and you will lose connectivity. the dash indicators and the front signals are on a separate circuit than the rear turn signals (because they are also the brake lights). your problem is typical of a problem in the switch.

If it turns out not to be the turn signal switch, check the firewall bulkhead connector, lots of current and melting.

Sounds like a ground for the bulbs front or an rear.... there are 2separate grounds on the two places one may go out but the others will ground and find a ground through another but the turn signal to that side of the missing ground may stay on and not flash or act funky some other way.

My charger had similar issues with one turn signal not working correctly, and I resolved it by replacing the turn signal flasher.
The turn signals and hazards use different flashers. They are pretty cheap < $10 and all you have to do is reach under the dash and swap it.

not a ground as you say, he already stated that all works correctly when 4 ways are on, this proves bulb, wiring, & grounds are good

explain how lights work with 4 way flashers on when it uses the same wires?

he states the left rear light flashes, to me, that means flasher is working

Thanks to everyone that replied to my post. I was able to isolate the problem with the help of the car's wiring diagram. It turns out that when the hydraulic clutch reservoir was installed, which is a tight fit next to the engine compartment bulkhead wiring connectors, the wire for the left turn signal was slightly dislodged. After reseating it and the connectors themselves, problem solved!!
