Buddy and I put a 302 in his Mother's Bobcat (Mercury's Canadian Pinto) when we were 15. Jeff couldn't wait to take it for a boot down the street, lit them up and thankfully the end of the street was a field. He'd given no thought to the fact we'd taken the brake master off it's mount for engine install room.. LOL
And they only blew up if rear ended with the left signal light going!!!
The story as mom tells it, grandpa bought the Pinto new back then. I'm not sure of the year.
But at some point my dad took grandpa's Pinto to a buddy's house for a little "work". I'm under the impression the car was still fairly new at the time.
When my dad brought the Pinto back to grandpa, it was all "hopped up" and sounding mean.
Mom claims that grandpa's response was something like this: "What the h... did you do to my car Johnny?"

None that survived over the years that I'm aware of.no family photos of the Pinto?
Yeah, that Gapp & Roush Pinto sure looks fast to me...The only fast Pinto I ever saw said Gapp & Roush on the side!...
