OK, I am trying to install new defrost diffusers in my 66 Charger. They were never in the car when I bought it. One has the inlet on the end, the other in the middle. Which one goes where and which way does the one with the outlet on the end go. Also hoe do te ducts go from the A/C unit. Which outlets. Any assistance with this will be greatly appreciated.
TIA

Center inlet on pass side, side Inlet on drivers side toward center of car. The hoses connect to the round outlets pointing back towards the dash.

Same on AC and non AC, Same on all 66-70 B-bodies.

The AC ducts connect to the rectangle door between the round outlets.

Thank You, Turns out the pass diffuser was there but needed replaces, mostly taped so that was easy. Drivers is completely missing so will finish that tomorrow. How long is the duct for drivers side diffuser. Also how long are the ducts for the A/C?

Thanks again for te help.

Thanks for your help R413. I have been able to get the diffusers in and order the appropriate size ducts from Summit Racing. What I am concerned with now is the outlet on the A/C unit to the center dash outlets. The plastic fitting bolted to the A/C unit and distributes a/c to the side vents via round duct and thru a rectangular opening to the a/c outlets in the center of the dash is connected how? The rectangular opening at a/c is 5 1/4 wide by 1 3/4 high, at the dash the outlets are 7 1/4 wide by 2 high. Is there duct to connect these two and if where available? If not do I have to make something? What has everyone else done?

TIA

On 67 Plymouth - not sure if Charger is the same - there is a black plastic "box" that attaches to the interior side of the air box over the door. The driver and pass. side vents attach on left/right with flex hoses like the defrost - driver's side is 2 pieces that connect at hole in dash frame above steering column. Top opening has rectangular flex hose that goes to center dash vent.

Thank you. Yes, the flex hose that goes to the center a/c vents is what I'm looking for. Do you have a source? Or a picture that I might try to fabricate something?

I think I have a spare. I'll have to check. Not sure if repops are available.

Thank You. That is what I am looking for. At least I now know what it looks like. Picture was very helpful.

Let me know if you need more pics or dimensions. I'd consider selling my spare if it fits and you're interested. I checked my 67 parts book, but I'm a little unclear on interchangeability between Dodge and Plymouth based on the way it's notated. It doesn't have a separate call out for Charger so I'd assume it's at least the same as Coronet.

Had another thought and checked the center air vent. Parts book lists different p/n's for Belv. and Coronet/Charger so that could mean the vent tube is different as well.

Thanks. I'm trying to get hold of Vintage Air. Their manual for the 66 charger lists a center louver plenum. Would you happen to have the part number. I don't have a parts manual. Thanks

Here's what my 67 parts book says for B-bodies. Hope this helps:
TUBE, Evap. Center Air Outlet, R - 2607 663
W, w/adapter - 2607 782

R = Belv.
W = Coronet

I don't know what "w/adapter" means. The pic they show looks like mine.
