More progress made

All the cowl vent rubs needed to be straightened. The shop made a neat tool to fix them and showed me a straight edge across them and they are better then new.

My helper approves!!

I haven't had a chance to work on the car myself, but progress was still made. I received some parts I bought and the shop has made good progress on the car. Here is some photos of the progress they made

where did u get the partial trunk floor or did they trim a new one to fit ?

It's a left and a right full floor pan from YearOne and they trimmed down to what they needed.

Shop found a couple more dents in the cowl so will be next week before I get it back. But I'm ready!!

Cowl and jams done as planned, just about ready to come home...

Now to get windshield and rear window in ... But dash in first...but HVAC assembly first...etc...

The interior was black orginally and from the driver quality restoration I did 20 years ago. Most of that stuff is in really good shape as I did a lot of yearone repro stuff that first restoration so my wallet says interior will be black...

blue would be unique...white or tan would also pop...but black vinyl in the south always makes for fun in shorts!!!

Had a little time to work on things today.

Got the brake pedal assembly back together.

And did some firewall insulation too.

Next up install wiper transmission.

I installed the wiper linkage. I have question for the group about the seals at the top of the cowl you will see them in the pictures. I have them below the cowl metal. Is that installed properly? Or are they supposed to be above the cowl exposed if you will?

I hope to drop the motor in today. Got the motor mounts installed on the second try. Apparently the pictures in the shop manual didn't help me figure out which side was which. Luckily they can only install one way as I eventually found out.

You have it right. The foam rubber ring goes on the pivot shaft, shaft gets mounted squishing the ring against the bottom inside cowl.

Correct! Did you use the rope caulk around the outside of the foam seal that wraps around the pivot? So when the foam seal meets the cowl the rope seal is an additional seal around the inside hole....

The bolt direction are the only important aspect when installing the mounts and the service manual shows this....
