Did Max Wedge cars use a ball & trunnion driveshaft?

Trunion joints were even used on the early 833 4spds, and drag raced, with taypered axels!

I had a conversation with Bill Jenkins about this and I asked him about how strong the taypered axels were. He replied "Well you broke one now and then, then you replaced it". He was hard to start a conversation with but one day I had an old Superstock magazine with me and I showed him the feature article, with his '64 altered wheelbase Dodges. I asked him which car was the Hemi and which was the Wedge. He was all over those pics and we had a great conversation. Only people like him would know the true answers to the things that took place back then because they lived it!

If you are looking for one I have one out of 1964 automatic Polara.

According to the same Darrell Davis book they made only 7 63 Fury Max Wedge Convertibles 4 Automatics and 3 stick shifts .so that was a real Loss losing 1 of 7 do you remember if it was a Automatic or stick? I currently own a 63 Sport Fury Convertible Black car ,red/White interior ,T-85 Stick Trans ,Radio and Heater Delete ,Hi Compression car .been following these cars for years .
So yours is one of the four accounted for by Galen Govier? Wow Fury max wedges were way rarer than Sport Furys!

Talk about a rare Max Wedge I had the one and only 63 4 door Fury.
Featured in several national magazines back in 1992.
Feature car at Carlisle in 1992.
fully documented BY ME not Galen........ window sticker bill of Sale build sheet.
I had 7 different Max wedge real cars back in the 80's and 90'S.
So I knew what to look for. Did not need anybody else's opinions as to being real.

I spoke to Galen back when I bought my car in 1983 and had him decode it so I assume it is one of the 4 that you spoke of he knows about .Back in those days not a lot was know about real Max Wedge cars it seems .When the Darrell Davis books came out it made it a lot easier for everyone to Identify real cars ,easy as looking up the vin number in one of his books .The books are a Great source for anyone into these cars .Actually it was Wayne Brewer in Ohio that Identified my car as being real Before Galen ,He is Another very Knowledgeable person on the Max Wedge cars .Yes Fury Convertibles are a lot rarer than the Sport Furys ,I always wonder how many of each actually survive .

I remember Looking at your 1963 Fury Max Wedge 4Door at Carlisle in 1992 ,That was. Beautiful car .

FYI they made 2 63 Fury Max Wedge 4 Door sedans ,and 2 63Fury Max Wedge 4 Door Hardtops .The other 4 Door sedan Max Wedge was a Hi Compression T -85 stick car
