I'm looking for new front suspension component for my 74 and can't find much almost everything is up to 1972 compatibility (tubular control arms, drop spindles, aftermarket brakes etc) I want to know what the difference in suspension is between the two different generations and if there are any companies making these parts for a 73-74. PST has a lot of stuff for 72's but close to nothing for 74's

Pretty much nothing will interchange. 73/4 has a completely different front suspension. Longer T-bars. Different K-frame. 72 shock towers are welded into the uni-body. 73 they bolt to the K-frame assy. Different controll arms, sway bar, steering and idler arm, yad, yad yad.
Ball joints, tie rod ends ect are available from most part houses.
PST makes biiger T-bars.
Don't know anybody that makes spindles or tubular controll arms and such.

The only thing I can find is a rack and pinion coilover conversion with everything included...for 4k BASE PACKAGE from magnum force. I guess my best bet would to be rebuilding the stock suspension with poly bushings until I hit the lottery.

Ya I forgot MF started making them for the 73-up B's
A guy on Moarts has billet spacers to replace the rubber K-frame bushings.

Aren't those a race only bushing that wear out quickly? I'm going for more of a pro touring-esque sporty suspension

No these are the rubber insolation bushings between the K-frame and frame rails that they started using on 73B's. Not part of the suspension but help to firm things up abit.

I got pretty far in making a pro-touring-esque 79 300 (same chassis as your 73-74).

Get Moog bushings from Napa, or check in with Firm Feel (firmfeel.com) for bushings, and just about everything else.

I made my own iso-elimination which helped handling immensely. (I'm also the guy on Moparts / SolidBushings.com)

I ran Firm Feel's Upper Control Arms with poly bushings. I ran poly bushings in the sway bar end links and rear springs. Everything else was rubber. It handled great but I know how to improve it when next the car and I meet.

I can vouch for his solid K-frame mounts. Totally changed the feel of my 73 Road Runner.

Thanks guys for the firm feel heads up and solid mounts cudazappa how much are your billet mounts?

Check with Rich at PST....they had EVERYTHING I needed for my 76....A arms to Lowers, spindles, everything for a complete re-construct....your following the same path I just did.... PM me if you'd like and I can give ya numbers and prices if your interested

I can also Vouch for your solid Kmember bushings AND solid torsion bar bushings (which you also included all hardware required too! VERY NICE!). Nicely stiffened up the unibody and took the slop out of handling on my 74 Charger. Next challenge, upper control arm bushings...

Jerseys_Finest - I get $165 for the K-frame biscuits and $50 for the t-bar crossmember bushings. Or $199 for all. That doesn't include postage ($12, or just $6 for the t-bar bushings)
