I have a 1966 Coronet that I did the old "disc o-tech" brake article conversion. It now has 1974 Dart front mounted calipers and spindles. I want to add a sway bar but it won't clear the front mount caliper. I was told to swap the caliper and spindle from side to side to place the caliper in the rear and use Mopar F body or 1969 disc brake Camaro brake hoses. Will this work and did anyone actually do this with success?

Mounting the calipers to the rear is common practice on 66-69 B bodies. I have pin type calipers, and I moved the hose bracket to the front, for better routing. I was making my own hard lines anyway. Contact Dr Diff for slider caliper hose solutions.

If you have slider calipers mounted to the rear, you can use 73 up b body hoses.
They are long enough to put the twist in so they clear on turning.
For all I know F body and 73 B body hoses are the same length.

Thanks for the response. Dr. Diff wants to sell me new slider calipers and hoses. I'm under the impression I can use the factory 74 Dart disc brake slider calipers but with 73 B body hoses.

I haven't had any experience with that combo. Whatever you do, make sure there is no rubbing or twist in the hose through all points of suspension travel and steering.

I put 1970 B-body pin-type calipers on my 1964 Polara, with the calipers to the front. At full turn, they could contact the sway bar. I swapped the spindles side for side to hang the calipers out back. I also moved the brake hose bracket from behind the top control arm on the frame rails to ahead of it. Very easy to do; drill out the two factory spot welds, and then tack welded through the holes in the new position. Original brake hoses then work fine. Changing the spindles side for side has no effect on steering geometry. In drum brake application the same spindle is used for either side.

I've had rear mounted pin calipers with swapped spindles in my A-body since 1993. No issues. I made my own brake hoses. But like others said those Camaro ones work too.

I always found St. Regis hoses work for this. Nothing special with those.
Slider type calipers. Be sure your bleeder is at the top when you do it. (I know. Duh. Just adding that)

Just installed Dr. Diffs slider calipers and hoses, IMO they have the advantage of having two bleeder screw’s which better allows them to be mounted front or rear which helps with hose routing
