Do TTI headers fit as well as I've heard?

Call up Roland at Chrysler power he is a dealer for TTI and will give you a discount. Roland is awesome and super nice.

I called TTI to order a new exhaust system and the guy I spoke with was not very nice and acted like I was bothering him when I was asking questions.

It was not a good call.

Try Bill at Chicago Connection or Chrysler Power. Both companies are friendly and knowledgeable.

I got both my sets from Chicago Connection. Ceramic coated 2" with 3" x-pipe Dynomax mufflers. Since Dynomax now makes headers I wonder if TTI still uses their mufflers? Maybe they make them for Dynomax...inquiring minds want to know...

Another nice option with TTi is that the standard muffler that comes with their exhaust system is the Dyno Max Super Turbo. But if you want a little more sound, they will sell you Ultra Flows with custom welded extension tubes instead that fit right in.

Also, good point about vendors. I bought direct from TTI. They seemed peeved. Buy from a FBBO sponsor or recommendation in this thread. Had mine for 9 years. They have been outside and slammed at high speed a few times and still are intact. First contact when slamming during high speed suspension is the collector flange. Very durable.

adam83, It was soft sagging motor mounts (and tranny mount) that the engine wasn't in the proper location for the pipes to clear. Again it was my stupid mistake for not looking at the mounts and replacing them with new during the exhaust installation.I buy all my engine mounts from Schumacher,engine-swaps.com,, The parts store mounts,in my opinion aren't good quality and fail in a few years.

I bought 2" headers and 3" exhaust system from Roland at Chrysler Power. Install new motor mounts before the headers and you should have no issues. I had to raise the engine a little to clear the PS box. Passenger side header rubs torsion bar a little. Maybe a problem with old K frame.

I close to ordering a set of TTI 1 7/8" for my 400 motor. These would be in a 72 B-Body. Do they fit good with stock starters or do you have to go to a mini starter. Looking for real world not what's written.
Thanks Ron

I have these in a 71 B Body. I have a mini starter and an Alterkation front end. Tons of room. I am sure a stock starter would fit but it would be tight.

Thanks for that, anyone else that could answer my question???
Also can they go on with exhaust studs or do I have to use bolts in the heads?
Thanks Ron

I'm running my TTI's on factory studs.

I decided to go with bolts rather than studs to make it easier to get my headers on and off.

I love my new TTI headers!!!

I always use bolts as to me they work better and are easier to work with on my 63. One header bolt hole on each header is elongated (oval) and you have to start that bolt first and then slide the header down some to start the other bolts. It just dont work to good with studs to me as I think its easier to install using the bolts.
I bought my TTI headers and the full 3" exh system to my rear bumper from "Mancini" who gave me good service and a good price. And it fit like a glove ! Ron

How do they line up with the trans cross brace? Is it a straight shot through for the H-Pipe or X-Pipe connection?

My H pipe crosses about 6-8" behind the transmission cross brace. I had to go with an H pipe rather than X-pipe because I have a Gear Vendors Overdrive.

Everything fit 100%

In the flowmaster instructions it says to use an H pipe not an X just saying....

What starters have you guys used with the TTI headers? I've got a 383 deep oil pan, power steering 727 column shift. I plan on getting tti's in the near future.
Also what other problems have you run into while installing?

Yep, they seemed annoyed when I called. Go through a FBBO vendor. Probably get a better price too.
