Thats the same spot I put mine on my 67 Belv.Since I put it on the car I have been having a hot start problem. I don't know if the engine bay heat is having an affect on it or not, but it is the only change other than plug gap of .050 Hows yours working there?

That's exactly where I had it on my '71 'Cuda. Mine was mounted vertically but in the same spot.

I never had a problem with it starting and drove it everywhere even on hot summer days.

just my 2 cents

whats worked for me on my ride is i mounted inside of the car under the glove box area- firewall ive had the same box mounted in the engine bay and it worked fine for awhile then after taking it to the track a few times it started to give me hot starting issues then i relocated it inside with me and never had a problem since so "thats all i gots to say about that" (Forest Gump).

msd

under the battery tray would be a good spot but what if the battery leaks with time it would go through the tray then right onto the msd box. or if a hose bust open then the box would get washed with antifreeze, also ive seen clutch fans self destruct rip apart everything up front well again there goes the box. iam just trying to think of a few worst cases. but if its inside the car with you then none of the above stuff could get to the box. just a thought :tread_on _me.gif:
