First time posting here. I had a question about the 727 to 518 swap I've seen in another post that the a518 46rh can bolt on to the 360 small block in my 77 B200 tradesman ( with some clearance modifications). I have a lead on a 518 from a 93 Dodge w250 with a Cummins.

Is this still the same bolt pattern?

I'm not really trying to convert the van to 4wd.... yet.

Is there a way to remove the 4wd shaft and cap it or maybe remove the transfer case altogether? I'm really just interested in the overdrive.
Thanks

Dang. Any insight on the issues?
For the most part nothing will work. Tranny bell wont mate to the motor for starters. The rest behind the tranny case is 4wd only. You need to find something with an overdrive out of a small block 2wd truck. RH not RE. Then you have a starting point.

Gotcha. Thanks for your help!

The Cummins has a different bell housing pattern. You'll need a 95 and back unit for a small block. 96 on is the RE series. On the unit you have on hand though, the 91-3 units for diesel are non lock up. 94- is lock up for diesel. What you have would make a great donor trans for a big block. Cut the bell housing off and use a JW Transbell for the mate up. With the non lock up, you can use a regular less expensive converter. The diesel and V10 trannies used upgraded internals over the V8 stuff. Similar to the Hemi versions of the 727 compared to wedge units. On eliminating the t-case, just get a trans from a 2X truck or van. Plenty of them out there.
