yes they will work fine, but
there are some differences between them.

If I recall, the later ones were used as NOS replacements as they were a better design.

i believe they will interchange from 71 to 79
with many variations of them thru out the years
they used a lot of different part numbers for them.
i got a education in them while tracking down some nos 71 ones..

71-3 has a coil spring
74-8 has an S spring.
Either will fit 71-8 B only. Don't interchange with any other body.
The S spring is better.
