DOGS

Just dropped Thor off at the trainer. Was worried about it and thought it would be hard. But after talking with him and seeing the facility I am excited about it.

he'll be fine & learning with the pack
he'll have a blast & get some obedience & hunting training
they love to work, perform/please, it's a win-win

I know what you mean about
being separated from my fur babies

whenever I didn't take them on the road with me
(not kids in tow too)
all I did was wonder how my dog/s were/was doing

1st ones to greet you at the door, wagging their tail
excited & happy to see you, with unconditional love, hugs & kisses

I can't say that about many humans

Lisa used to comment to me, kidding about it of course;
"That I kiss & hug my dog/s, before I'd kiss & hug her"
(she got me several of my dogs/labs too)
I always told her;
"if you come to the door wagging your tail, kissing, hugging & greeting me
you'd be 1st too"
It was an ongoing joke, she was a total animal lover too
her horse/s our dogs & even my ducks, chickens, pig or bull

Dogs especially, they are truly family
& repay you with unconditional loyalty that can not be matched

I'm still 100% sure you will miss the guy too

The insanity that happens when I get back to my mutts in Arizona after being away for a few weeks in California lasts for hours! And every time I have to leave, i start missing them before i get to the state line (10 miles).
(We've got relatives staying with them while Liz and I are on a one week trip to CA. So the insanity will be double when we get back!.)

I am contemplating an act of civil, disobedience, i.e. criminal offense.

One of the dog parks has a fenced off area. It was originally built for kids hockey. The kids have much better facilities now and people use this enclosure to train and do different things with her dog separate from everybody that's running around. Some dipshit got it in their head that would be good to turn it back into a hockey rink a couple years back. This grates on me, especially since on warm sunny days no one's skating. Can't blame them the ice is always rough and crappy. The city cries about money and raises taxes, but they put in a thick, temporary plastic liner that is 50x100 feet to make a rink that nobody wants or uses. It has been over a month now that there has been zero ice and 6 inches of water standing in this pen.

I've been thinking about buying kids toy boats and making sails that say things like: SS Money Waster. The water is crystal clear so I thought about getting some live Chubs and turn them loose in there. I would love to see some Terrier chasing those fish around. Then I think it's the sort of thing that they charge you with a bullshit offense, but it still costs money to go to court and hire a lawyer, then it's not so funny.

So talk me down, what's the adult thing to do?

New addition to the house. Whisky. 2 years old female, supposed to be half mastiff half great dane. Skittish as hell. Obviously some sort of abuse...but she's warming up to being here, and starting to interact with the other 2 pups.

The smaller one in the pics is Kona, 9 month pitt mix. She's about 65lbs for comparison.
