So as posted even though Titan passed I went to see the foster dog. I had to go alone, what I'd never do, but the foster just couldn't do it anymore with his health. Well I pulled the trigger, she's has been awesome, but it's been less that 24hrs. She needs a bath something bad, outside kennel for two months and swimming in a pond once a week. Swamp Stank! Also covered in slobber from wrestling the wifes rat dog. Hopefully I can get her on birds soon.

So I posted in another thread Titans time was limited, and he's taken a turn for the worse, we wanted a natural passing at home but, he's a fighter but he can't stand for more than a few seconds, hasn't been eating, lost 10 or more lbs, confused. I've literally been in tears since yesterday. Worst part is I agreed to meet an adoption dog on Thursday, the foster has congentive heart failure and has to send the dog to shelter within a week. Anyways my wife stayed home today and up all night with him and we finally agreed he is ready to go on. He's almost 14 and has been a pain in my *** since we got him at 9 months, love him, but he'll be with his best friend, Bones. Wish I could be there to see it, those two knuckleheads are gonna shake heaven up for a few days lol. I'll miss my buddy!View attachment 1495985View attachment 1495986View attachment 1495987View attachment 1495988
So sorry to hear that about Titan,
I hope his passing is easy & he's not suffering...

I know how heartbreaking it can be/is...
it never gets any easier either

I wish him well when he passes the pearly gates...

I'm sure he is where he needs to be, with you & the wife...

Dog died go to heaven - they'll still talk about you.jpg

Pudelpointer/Lab.
Long story, but the Pudelpointer people didn't want her after they found out she wasn't purebred, they guy that fostered was only planning to have her for a little while till they showed up, 2 months later and here we are.

You did the right thing. Some people don't like it when I say to replace the old dog as soon as possible, but new dogs need homes too!

BTW if anyone is wondering what happened to Precious Catahoula, she made a very rapid recovery and has been running hard with the pack for a couple days. I can't believe how fast that nasty wound is healing up.

Boomer is 1 year old today !!!

We got him back in early March. It was just after our 2 older dogs passed. It was just Tilly, who was just over a year old herself at the time. She seemed pretty down in the dumps without her big brothers. My wife and I started looking at pups, so Tilly would have a friend...someone to play dog stuff with. You see the older dogs were too old to play, so her first years was almost entirely me playing with her. I didnt mind at all, actually I cherished the time together.
Antway, we found Boomer at the city animal shelter. He was the only non pit/staffy there. We took Tilly to meet him and it was love at first sight. We adopted Boomer and brought him home a couple of days later. Tilly couldnt believe her eyes ! She was so gentle teaching him the boundaries and her favorite games.

We were truly blessed. Everything was just perfect. When my wife would knit on the front porch, they would play within eyesight of her. When I worked in the barn, they would both lie down in the shade by the barns front door. They were quite the pair.
Then the unfortunate struck. Tilly died suddenly while they were playing. Poor Boomer had just lost what he loved most in the world...Tilly. they only had 3 months together, but they were such happy months for all of us.
We knew we had to do something to bring his happy back. Enter Lilly Belle, the malinois. They get along perfectly.
So, our dog tradition on their birthday is to get a cheeseburger (they share one) and have an extra big walk. We also get them a birthday biscuit from a local pet store that makes their own. The pups love them !
It has been a tough year for Boomer...lets hope for this one being great !!!

How can a Poodlepointer EVER be a purebred?!?! Theyre a mix by definition.
Good on ya for giving dog a good home - bet it will pay you back many many times over! :)

Thanks, yeah technically every dog is. Lol.
I'm hoping this works out. She has possession issues, growled at my daughter, when she has an antler, those are gone, at least I won't step on them night. She jumps a bit, but "suitcase" has been amazing. She doesn't like it, but it's better than a prong. She'll be on an e collar soon.
Don't want to stress her more than she already has been. 50' check cord has been enough. Only chased it once
