DOGS

Thanks, and thank you all.
I just had the "first of the morning/go outside/feeding time" daily event, and although yesterday I had Laney as a sick dog that I'd thought the vet would diagnose and fix, this morning she's not here.
I've been seeing memory images of her (most of the dogs do) following me to the bathroom and I close the door for privacy and I wished I had those few more minutes with her now. Other images of her too, and I miss my "street hound".
Today is my 62nd birthday too. I will probably always think of Laney as my birthday approaches.

Happy birthday Steve. I’ve had to part with one of my strays not long ago. I agree it’s tough, you will think of her even when you’re not meaning too. Remember buddy, she love’s you just the same.

I'm with you there, Bio. If I want to pee standing up, I have to lock the bathroom door.
Happy birthday Steve. I suspect God may send you another one to rescue. I just gave my deaf shepherd a special rub, thinking of you and Laney.

Thanks, and thank you all.

Very sorry for your loss. We lost our Rosie January 12, 2022. We only had her for about 18 months but boy did she tear out our hearts when we lost her. She actually came with the house we bought. The one bad vice she had was that she would occasionally wander when she was spooked. She got spooked bad in the middle of the night during a thunderstorm and got hit by a car. It still hurts.

We got Gemma about a month later. Love her to death but still miss Rosie like crazy.......

And Happy Birthday! You picked a great day to be born! I am also celebrating my 62nd today...............

Oh man, I am so sorry to hear of Laney passing. I am still missing KC, Buddy, and Tilly ( my 3 dogs that passed last year). My sadness is not quite as bad as it was, but I still really miss them. So, I know what you are going through. Dogs imprint their heart and being upon us. They love us and we love them.
You gave Laney a life that she never would have had. A warm loving home. You and her were best friends. The tears will flow…let them. Losing a beloved pet is worthy of your tears.

RIP Laney

Yep we 2nd guess when we put them down. We do what we need to do. Sorry for your loss and both my Rotties go in the bathroom when I go. I ask can I have some room please.

I believe I posted before but I will post it again just because. These are pix of all our pets past and present prior to mounting them on our wall of honor. I find myself staring at this many times. It comforts me to know the joy they brought me and the good life they had.

I try and think of the good times we had. And it helps a lot.My little buddy that I had to say goodbye too not long ago. He used to love riding on the golf cart. This is good stuff for my healing. I hope you can find a loving memory of Laney that helps you in your grieving also.

On my photo/video file here on the laptop and phone, there are 577 photos and vids from 2014 to current of past and current brood. My wife has that and more on hers. I periodically go back and revisit them sometimes. Many happy but bittersweet memories.

I don't feel like going to count them, but I have similar on my phone, all currently alive. Lucky me.

We've done the same thing for our Fuzzy kids. We can't find pictures of some of the non-Huskies or cats. No cats since rescuing the Huskies.

It's been a couple years and now I have a sweet little girl in my life, so I can watch this again. He hadn't started to show his cancer yet when the neighbor got a puppy.

The pup was doing a pretty good job of holding its own!
He was a beautiful shepherd Sam.
That's how I described him to people, like a long haired shepherd, but he was a Belgian. He and the pup had just met and went straight to wrestling. The dog park and playing was something he needed every day. He had a gentle mouth. What I like of the video is watching his tail. He was a happy boy.

I know you described him as a Belgian shepherd. He was a Groenendale, wasn't he? (spelling?)
Playing with my gsd's is a minimum three (more like five) times a day thing.
