all passed within 13 months. shepard mix, ruptured abdominal tumor. beagle mix, she wasn't looking good. momma took her to the vet, vet kept her for obsevation and i.v. fluids. by the time momma got home, dog passed, probably of a broken heart of losing her buddy. then, the border collie, it was time. we called the vet, to do it, and she came to the house to let my pooch cross that damn bridge.
sugar was 10
gypsy was 11
and pandora was 15
we now have rescued 3 others.
2 y.o rat terrier, 17 m.o. boxer/shepard, 10 m.o. dumb as a box of rocks lab/pit.

We adopted this guy 2 years ago. When his master passed away the family was going to put him down. No one wanted him as he has a very large cancer tumor. He has been here over 2 years now and doing just fine. My grand daughter loved him. I think the feeling was shared by Maxie.
My rescue dog Luke. Had him for ten years. He's smarter than 90% of the people I know. He's an outside dog mostly, he comes inside at his leisure usually when its too hot or cold ir thunder storms. He lives at my fathers farm. Getting up there in age, is my best friend. Still gets around good. A few years ago I had to spend a couple grand to get him fixed up aftwr a run in with a low boy. 3 months in a full front leg cast and he was good as new. He gets arthritis and liver meds everyday and they seem to keep him active and youthful. I never miss giving him his meds even though I dnt remember to take mine to save my life
Dog at bottom of picture and below is Cooper another rescue dog and Lukes buddy that we had for ten years. Unfortunately he passed away in his sleep earlier this year after a short illness
