Our female Doberman has learned a few obstacles to run in a little agility course I set up in the back yard. Time for some new tricks.

I noticed on walks how quiet she remains when all the neighborhood dogs bark their fool heads off at us. And when a stranger knocks on our street-side iron gate, the poodle barks up a storm, but "Camelia" here doesn't say a word. Sometimes at night when the neighborhood dogs start barking, she will chime in though.

Today, I decided to teach her a new trick "speak", trying to entice her with bits of hot dog. I could not get a peep out of her. I will try again tomorrow.

Nothing doing today either, she tried doing other tricks to get the hot dog bit, but she did not understand that I just wanted her to bark.

“Speak” is sooo easy. She maybe is one of those ‘attackers’ with no warning(?) Not all bad in the darkness. I wouldn’t want to meet her in the dark!

Dodger, long hair Dachshund is almost a year old now. Most people don't recognize a full size Dachshund (or a long haired), they're too used to seeing minis.
He'll be about 25 lbs when all filled out. People think he's a mini Setter.
It's said dogs mimic their owner's personality, don't know why this one's so goofy.

Finally after three years of the loss of our beloved dogs (we lost two to illness and age in a year) We got a new fur baby in our lives. A 2 1/2 year old Shih-Tzu. What a find as the people who had her decided they didn't want her. They gave us a kennel food treats dishes and all. No re-homing fee. I thought we would find a hole in her because people don't just give these away. 3 days in and the most perfect little dog ever. Totally house broke don't bark and just a wonderful little friend. We are already very attached!

Females are the best to keep them inside your house IMHO, except for the little drops of blood during heat, they are amazing to have inside no pee everywhere, no territory marking, and ****- su are great dogs.

Our last one was male. He never did do that. But she is fixed so no problem there.
